Culture, Art and Music in the “Bottega”: Guercino's San Sebastian
Culture, Art and Music in the Shop is the format created by Stefano Lazzari, owner of the Bottega Tifernate together with his sister Francesca and father Romolo. The company's showroom hosted a conversation on Guercino's San Sebastiano held by experts on Friday 26 November.
After the debut last September, the format is proposed again in a version that involves the reproduction of Guercino's work. The scene painted by the artist on canvas is an artistic interpretation of the story of Sebastiano, head of the imperial guard, punished with arrows and rescued by Irene. Bottega Tifernate worked on the reproduction, paying extreme attention to the techniques and color rendering.
The event was an opportunity to talk in the "shop", just like we used to do in the past. Around San Sebastiano, there was talk of the soldier, who later became a Saint, who became an emblem of resistance and the plague. This meeting allowed us to analyze Guercino's San Sebastiano from multiple points of view and in great detail. Contributing to the analysis of the painting were the accurate and interesting interventions of Marina Mattei (archaeologist and historian of ancient art), Ugo Pastorino (surgeon and art lover) and Massimo Pulini (artist and art historian) great connoisseur of Guercino. The music of Maestro Fabio Battistelli and Stefano Falleri increased the involvement. The musicians, with clarinet and guitar, took part in the conversation through some wonderful pieces. Also present at the meeting were the mayor Luca Secondi and the councilor Michela Botteghi.
Following an engaging conversation on Guercino's San Sebastiano, the guests went to the part of the showroom set up for the consumption of typical Umbrian food. In fact, Giuliano Tartufi, the Oleificio Ranieri and the inevitable tasting with the sommelier Tiziana Croci were present. At the end of the evening, Bottega Tifernate warmly thanks the many people present, the speakers and the sponsoring companies who contributed to the success of the event.
