History
The triptych consists of an almost square central panel to which are attached two rectangular wings that can be folded over; once folded, they show a representation of the Earth during Creation. The three scenes of the open triptych are probably to be analysed in chronological order from left to right, although there is no certainty of this reading. The left panel represents God as the pivot of the encounter between Adam and Eve; the central panel is a vast fantasy view of naked figures, imaginary animals, large fruits and rock formations; the right panel is a vision ofHell and represents the torments of damnation.
